Intravitreal injections that inhibit VEGF, including VABYSMO, have been associated with endophthalmitis and retinal detachment, increases in intraocular pressure, and arterial thromboembolic events.1
Retinal vasculitis with or without occlusion, typically in the presence of intraocular inflammation, have been reported with the use of VABYSMO in the postmarketing setting.1
No reported cases of retinal vasculitis with or without occlusion in VABYSMO's 6 pivotal clinical trials.1,2§
*nAMD only.
†Including iridocyclitis, iritis, uveitis, vitritis.
‡VABYSMO Q4W to VABYSMO OLE arms include events with onset on or after the week 24 treatment through week 72. Aflibercept 2 mg Q4W to VABYSMO OLE arms include AEs with an onset on or after the date of the first VABYSMO dose through week 72.12
§After 1 year in nAMD, 2 years in DME, and 6 months in RVO.
VABYSMO was compared with ranibizumab in:
AE=adverse event; BRVO=branch retinal vein occlusion; CRVO=central retinal vein occlusion; DME=diabetic macular edema; nAMD=neovascular age-related macular degeneration; OLE=open-label extension; Q4W=every 4 weeks; RVO=retinal vein occlusion; VEGF=vascular endothelial growth factor; W24=week 24; Y1=year 1; Y2=year 2.
